Yes, tax deductions are so fascinating that I think about them often, and deeply.
Yesterday it occurred to me that there is in fact a way to allow people to claim a tax deduction for their contributions to my cause (at least for the 80% of their contribution that goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.) It’s a bit convuluted, so bear with me.
1) Use the “ChipIn” button on my website to donate 20% of your total contribution. Please include a note letting me know this is what you’re doing.
2) Visit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s website to donate the remaining 80% of your contribution. Use the online form at: https://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/all_donate?item_id=8072. Please let me know that you’ve done this by completing the “Notify Someone Else Of Your Donation” section with my name and address:
Samantha Orme
970 Kent Avenue, #709
Brooklyn, NY 11205
If you have already donated, and you want your tax deduction, let me know and I can give you your 80% back so that you may donate it directly to LLS, and hence deduct it.
