So actually, I’m not really that tough. When my tent poles hadn’t arrived by 11 this morning, and the cabin proprietor offered me a discount on the Friday cabin rate for a cabin with a hot tub, I was sold in about a minute.
What? My knees kind of hurt and a hot tub sounded like 15 minutes of heaven. Actually, these cabins are really nice. Tucked away just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is incredibly pretty. The only reason I can’t give up the ride and just stay here is that they have no Internet access. Or cellphone service. Now I know where to come when I really want to get away. Right now I pretty much can’t wait to get back to civilization. I’m such an addict.

In breaking news: the TPS has just been resolved. I do now have tent poles: Fedex, amazingly, managed to find this place right on schedule! Yay Fedex!
